Every great game starts with a question. Ours was simple: how do you build a game that’s deep enough to reward strategy, fun enough to bring the whole family to the table, and smart enough to use data and technology as a feature — not a gimmick?
Data Games Lab was born out of a love for games that do more. We’re a small, independent game studio based in Southern California with a big idea: that card and dice-based games can be smarter, more immersive, and more meaningfully connected to the world around us — whether that’s the thrill of a sport, the challenge of a puzzle, or the chaos of a great party game.
We believe the best games reward strategy without punishing newcomers. They create moments — the kind you talk about long after the game is packed away. A late-inning comeback. A surprise twist that flips the whole table. A decision that seemed small until it wasn’t.
That’s the experience we’re building toward with every card, every die roll, and every line of code that powers our companion apps and digital enhancements.
Our first title, Roll for the Fences, is a tabletop baseball game that puts you in the dugout. You build your lineup, manage your pitching staff, and play out every at-bat with a combination of strategy and the beautiful randomness of dice. It’s backed by a companion app that brings a scoreboard to life — and it’s designed for fans who want more than just a casual game night.
We’re just getting started, and we’re glad you’re here. Follow along as we build something worth playing.
