Welcome to Data Games Lab

Where strategy, probability, and the love of the game come together.

We are building something exciting! Our first release, “Roll for the Fences,” is a tabletop baseball experience with a tech twist. The game blends the thrill of big swings with the unpredictability of dice and the excitement of a scoreboard that tracks and celebrates all the game action. Every roll can spark a rally, shift momentum, or deliver that game-winning moment—just like baseball at its best.

Roll for the Fences Is Heading to Kickstarter and the Pre-Launch Is Live Now!

Roll for the Fences is a two-player tabletop baseball dice game from Data Games Lab — nine years in the making and built for fans who want more than just a scorecard.
Choose from 80 player cards spread across four original teams: the Comets, Dragons, Rockers, and Knights. Manage your rotation, call your shots, and let the dice decide the rest.
And here’s the tech twist — a free companion app brings the ballpark right to your table with stadium organ music, crowd noise, and team-specific celebration videos on every big play. This isn’t just a board game. It’s a ballpark experience in a box.
Whether you’re a lifelong baseball fan or just discovering the game, Roll for the Fences is designed to reward strategy, reward instinct, and deliver moments worth talking about.

The Kickstarter pre-launch page is live right now. Hit the Notify Me button today and be first in line when the campaign officially launches on June 16th — including access to our Early Bird Special at just $30, limited to the first 150 backers.

Your seat in the stands is waiting.

Welcome to Data Games Lab: Where Strategy Meets the Board

Every great game starts with a question. Ours was simple: how do you build a game that’s deep enough to reward strategy, fun enough to bring the whole family to the table, and smart enough to use data and technology as a feature — not a gimmick?
Data Games Lab was born out of a love for games that do more. We’re a small, independent game studio based in Southern California building card and dice-based games that are smarter, more immersive, and more meaningfully connected to the world around us — whether that’s the thrill of a sport, the challenge of a puzzle, or the chaos of a great party game. We believe the best games reward strategy without punishing newcomers, and create moments worth talking about long after everything is packed away. That’s the experience we’re building toward with every card, every die roll, and every line of code that powers our companion apps and digital enhancements.
